Why It’s Time for a Women’s Co-Op Trucking Company
By LaTanya Flynn, CEO of Lady Trucking & Logistics
I’ve spent enough time in this industry to know one thing for sure: no one is going to hand you a seat at the table. Especially not in trucking.
So I built my own table. And now I’m building a lane for other women to do the same.
At Lady Trucking & Logistics, we’re not just launching trucks — we’re launching a model. One that shifts women from the margins of the industry to the heart of it. One that gives women the power to not only drive the truck, but to own the lane.
We are building the first women-led cooperative trucking company of its kind — and here’s why.
The Industry Needs a New Blueprint
Trucking has always been male-dominated. Women make up less than 10% of drivers and even fewer owners. And while there are some amazing women out here grinding, many of us are still operating in silos, with limited resources and no real path to ownership.
That stops here.
The co-op model gives us a way to scale as a unit — not just survive as individuals. It’s about collective ownership, shared growth, and building a company where women aren’t just “included” — they’re invested.
We’re not asking for a handout. We’re creating a structure where women can:
Lease on or contribute equipment
Share in company profits
Take leadership roles in active divisions
Build equity while building their brand
This isn’t about charity. It’s about strategy.
What the Lady Trucking Co-Op Looks Like
Here’s what we’re building — and yes, it’s already in motion:
Dump Truck Division – Our original core, built on daily site work, hauling, and infrastructure support.
Final Mile Division – Box trucks delivering white glove, retail, and regional fulfillment.
Reverse Logistics Division – Managing return freight, courier services, and 3PL support out of our SC Command Center.
Freight Brokerage Division – Connecting shippers and owner-operators across the Southeast.
Each division has room for women to own, operate, or invest — depending on their skillset, experience, and goals.
We provide the structure, compliance, branding, and back-office systems through Akili OS.
They bring the hustle. Together, we move more than freight.
Yes, Men Can Work With Us — But Here’s the Line
Let me be clear: we are not anti-man.
We work with plenty of male drivers, dispatchers, and vendors. Talent is talent.
But ownership? That’s where we draw the line.
Our model is designed to prioritize and grow women-led ownership, leadership, and wealth-building. Period.
We’ve watched the industry create thousands of opportunities that didn’t include us.
We’re not repeating that history — we’re rewriting it.
Why Talk About It Now?
Because the timing is right.
The market is calling for certified, diverse, reliable partners. We’re already WBE/DBE/MBE certified. We’re already compliant. We’re already showing up ready.
Now it’s time to scale that advantage.
I’m opening this conversation publicly because I know there are women sitting on ideas, on savings, or on the edge of burnout — wondering if there’s a better way to grow in this business.
There is. And I’m building it. With you, if you’re ready.
Let’s Talk About What’s Next
This is just the beginning.
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing more about how this co-op works, how women can get involved, and what’s required to be part of it. We’ll roll out division-specific leadership, onboarding programs, and ways for investors to support our model without compromising our mission.
We’re creating something bold here. Something powerful. Something new.
And if you’re a woman who’s been waiting for a lane like this, stop waiting.
